Chiang Mai, a small town in northern Thailand, features the beautiful environment and cool climate throughout the year. It is famous for its roses and is known as the “Northern Rose City”. Wat Thaton is a mountain-based temple which is located in Tha Ton District, Mae Yai County, Chiang Mai Province. The temple buildings are spread over the mountainside and the summit according to the height of the mountain. The most worth visiting is the stupa with ceramic inlay on the top of the mountain. It is only 300 meters away from Tha Pae Gate. The whole temple is golden and brilliant, and the surrounding walls are very beautiful. There are few tourists and it is very quiet.

In the early morning, the mist lingers over the pagoda, showing only the top of the Buddha, and making it look like a fairyland. Subsequently, the mist gradually dissipates, and the sun shines on the temple, covering the temple with a layer of gold, which is very shining and dazzling. At sunset, the sun gradually falls down. The afterglow of the sunset reddens the white clouds that are wandering in the blue sky. After a while, it turns into the sunset of a rose, which is shrouded over the temple to make it charming and fascinating.

Climbing to the top of the temple stupa, overlooking the rolling hills of Ma’ai County, you can feel the the sights are green, and your mood there will be very happy. At night, the little stars in the village below the mountain make people feel warm. As for how to get to the Wat Thaton, tourists can choose to rent a car or walk slowly to the temple, to enjoy the time of the journey, and feel the different surprises brought by each station in Chiang Mai.
